Feb. 24-27, Monday through Thursday -- A discussion of one man's 40-year legal struggle that resulted in reparations for Japanese interned during World War II will be featured during a four-day event spotlighting issues affecting Asian Americans. San Francisco attorney Don Tamaki will discuss the milestone case of Fred Korematsu, and a question period including Korematsu and his wife, Kathryn, will follow. The presentation will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, at the University Club. The documentary "Of Civil Wrongs and Rights: The Fred Korematsu Story" will be shown at noon the same day in Room 2011, King Hall. Other activities include a lecture by Judge Edward Chen of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California (Feb. 24), and discussions on the marginalization of Asian Pacific Islanders (Feb. 25) and on hate crimes (Feb. 26).
