What’s involved in cardiac rehab?
Patients who have had a heart attack, heart surgery or heart intervention will reduce their risk of another heart event by undergoing cardiac rehabilitation. At UC Davis Health, the rehab consists of a three-to four-month program where patients exercise and learn about heart healthy nutrition. The program, under the direction of Dr. Javier López, is known to lower blood pressure, reduce depression and improve quality of life.
