DOG-EAT-DOG OPENING ... Center for Companion Animal Health celebrates new facility

Jessie, a 9-year-old yellow labrador cancer survivor, does the honors during a "ribbon biting" ceremony on July 14 for the opening of the new Center for Companion Animal Health building on Garrod Drive. Looking on as Jessie chews through a string of hot dogs is owner Michael Duffield and veterinary medicine associate director Kristine Reveles. The new $16 million, 36,000-square-foot building triples the center's capacity for cancer treatments and will deliver chemotherapy, radiation and surgical oncology services to 3,600 small animals annually.
