"He isn't handicapped, physically challenged, crippled or wheelchair-bound -- he's just Matt and he happens to use a wheelchair." This is how Matt Glowacki is described on his Web site.

Next week, the campus community will have a chance to hear from him during UC Davis' 22nd annual disability awareness event. Glowacki, from Sun Prairie, Wis., is scheduled to give a talk at noon Oct. 29 in MU II in the Memorial Union. The event is free and open to the public.

Organizers said Glowacki will share his experiences and insights on creating a work and educational environment that fosters inclusiveness. According to his Web site, Glowacki was born healthy -- but without legs. Today he is a businessman, athlete and motivational speaker.

The event is sponsored by the Disability Issues Administrative Advisory Committee, the Office of Campus Community Relations, Human Resources, the Student Disability Center and Disability Management Services.
