Dean, 2 students headed for Capitol for Graduate Research Day

Graduate students from around the UC system are headed to the state Capitol on May 12 to promote their important role in the university’s research and to push for adequate funding of UC graduate programs.

The UC Davis delegates for Graduate Research Day are Christina Connell of the John Muir Institute of the Environment and Nathan Parker of the Institute of Transportation Studies.

Jason Murphy, director of State Government Relations with UC Davis’s Government and Community Relations, said Connell and Parker will join Graduate Studies Dean Jeff Gibeling for a round of visits with area legislators or their staffs.

A poster session and reception are scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Governor’s Council Room, with no reservations required.
