-- The College Preparatory Mathematics program, created under the leadership of Tom Sallee, UC Davis professor of mathematics, and Judy Kysh, director of the Northern California Mathematics Project and an educational extension specialist with the Cooperative Research and Extension Services for Schools in the UC Davis Division of Education, was recently recognized as an Exemplary Program in Teaching Mathematics by the U.S. Department of Education. In developing the four-year mathematics curriculum, Sallee and Kysh worked with a group of teachers from grades 8-12 over a 10-year period to write and field test materials, and assess students' results. College Preparatory Mathematics was one of five programs selected from 61 nominations.
