CIA's Former Middle East Analyst Discusses Policy and War

May 17, Wednesday -- The public is invited to hear about "Intelligence, Policy and the War in Iraq" from Paul Pillar, a former CIA national intelligence officer for the Near East and South Asia and a current faculty member at Georgetown University's Security Studies Program. As the former senior analyst for the Middle East from 2000 to 2005, Pillar can talk about the relationship between the U.S. intelligence community and policymakers, the politicization of the CIA and intelligence issues regarding the Iraqi war. Open to the public, the event is set for noon-1:15 p.m. in the AGR Room of the Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center at UC Davis. The sponsors are the Institute of Governmental Affairs and the Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation.
