CHILI DAZE ...

Craft Center staff member Holly Whetstone helps Halli Hanson with a paper maché chili pepper Tuesday as the Craftopia camp program kicks off another season. The program will bring hundreds of children ages 8 and older to campus over the next eight weeks and offers activities, including ceramics, painting, fiber arts, jewelry, metal-working, screenprinting and woodworking. Campers work on their projects, eat lunch and then head to the Rec Pool. Many of the students involved have parents who work on campus, said Sue Barnes, director of the Craft Center. "(They) find our camps to be a great service, since their kids are right on campus during the day." See http://campusrecreation.ucdavis.edu.
