Gary Sandy was truly one of a kind. During his years at UC Davis, no project was too small or too large — he took everything on with dauntless energy, limitless community spirit, and a profound sense of integrity. During his years in the chancellor’s office, he was known for his kindness, sense of humor, and the equanimity with which he approached everyone he encountered.
With his dedication to public service, Gary’s leadership, advocacy and skilled diplomacy have had a powerful and lasting impact on UC Davis and our region. He was a champion for Yolo County with sharp insight and a compassionate nature. We are grateful to have benefited so much from his wisdom and commitment over the years.
