Business, Science of Wine-making Focus of Seminar

March 7 to 11, Sunday to Thursday -- Topics ranging from the impact of supervalue wines to environmental practices in vineyards will be examined during a UC Davis executive education program on the business and science of wine-making in Sacramento. The annual UC Davis Wine Executive Program, presented by the university's Graduate School of Management and its Department of Viticulture and Enology, draws middle and senior managers from the wine industry. Sessions will be held in Suite 100 at One Capitol Mall, Sacramento. Those open to the media are marketing, 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. March 8; wine economist Robert Smiley's global perspective, 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. March 10; and vineyard challenges with Andrew Walker and James Wolpert of viticulture and enology, 9:45 a.m. to noon March 10.
