New 'State of Minds' premieres in May with focus on Davis campus

The Spring 2005 edition of UCTV's magazine program "State of Minds" premiers May 11.

Veteran journalist and UCTV host George Strait will anchor the program from the UC Davis campus, and introduce segments from Los Angeles, Riverside and Berkeley.

Leading off the program is a story about students doing double duty as UC Davis firefighters; followed by a profile of RP6, the robot created for hospital intensive care units at UCLA; a bioreactor at UC Riverside that turns carbon-based garbage into clean diesel fuel; and research at UC Berkeley to create "smart" intersections that will prevent crashes for drivers making left turns into oncoming traffic.
