BILL CLINTON VISITS UC DAVIS

Former President Bill Clinton reached out and thrilled an exuberant crowd of 7,800 as he spoke at UC Davis' Pavilion Tuesday to rally support for his wife, U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, in her bid for the Democratic nomination for president. The campaign event, organized with about 30 hours notice to the campus, had lines of people ringing the Hutchison Intramural Field and along La Rue Road to Russell Boulevard in the hope of attending. After the building filled, an estimated 3,500 people were turned away.
