Vanderhoef was drawn to Australia last month for the annual meeting of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities and, while there, visited four universities and three research-related institutions in support of student and scholar exchange, toured campus international houses, met with a Fulbright Office director and hosted two alumni dinners. "Some of our most famous alums are in Australia, and at least four of the best universities in the entire Pacific Rim are located there," Vanderhoef said.
