The Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts announced several add-ons to the previously announced 2008-09 season:

• Dan Zanes' Holiday House Party, a concert of family musical fun. 7 p.m. Dec. 2, Jackson Hall. $8.50-$30.

• Time for Three, genre-crossing string virtuosos. 7 and 9 p.m. concerts on three consecutive days, April 14-16, Studio Theatre. $17.50-$35.

• To the Century: A Gift to the Campus and Community, a UC Davis Centennial event, featuring British theatrical duo Lone Twin in a monthlong series of outdoor performances based upon daily life in Davis. 5:30 p.m. March 20-April 18, downtown Davis (location to be announced). Free.

Zanes is a former member of the Del Fuegos pop band who turned to family music, so far producing five albums, including the 2007 Grammy Award-winning Catch That Train. He presented a fun-filled concert at the Mondavi Center in February, and now he is coming back for the holidays.

Time for Three is a groundbreaking young trio that brings together a wide range of musical influences, from classical and country to gypsy, bluegrass and jazz, to form an exciting genre all its own. Violinists Zachary De Pue and Nicolas Kendall, and double bassist Ranaan Meyer met and began playing together while students at the Curtis Institute for Music in Philadelphia in 1999. Since rising to prominence in 2003, the group has played more than 200 engagements, including performances as soloists with the Philadelphia Orchestra and opening for k.d. lang.

Lone Twin's Greg Whelan and Gary Winters plan to create a "stage diary" of life in Davis, based on the performers' impressions from daily bike rides around town and campus.

Whelan and Winters are scheduled to present a new diary segment each evening and consolidate the parts into a full-length theater piece as the project progresses.

Formed in 1997 in the United Kingdom, Lone Twin spent nine years traveling the world and creating community-based performances for specific sites, and in 2006 founded Lone Twin Theatre in East Sussex.

Lone Twin has won raves for its dedication to the development of entertaining and hopeful works that still manage to be challenging and rewarding for audiences.

Mondavi Center ticket sales are under way for the new season's 15 subscription series and choose-your-own plans of five or more events. Faculty and staff receive a 30 percent discount on subscription series and 25 percent on choose-your-own plans.
