THE ARTS: Glenn Yarbrough concert; 'Writing About Real People'

GLENN YARBROUGH CONCERT SEPT. 19: American folk singer Glenn Yarbrough, who achieved solo stardom with Baby, the Rain Must Fall and who was an original member of the Limeliters, is scheduled to perform Sept. 19 at the Mondavi Center. His concert with the Havenstock River Band is set for 8 p.m. in Jackson Hall.

'WRITING ABOUT REAL PEOPLE': UC Davis Extension announced a panel discussion on writing, coupled with an information session on the extension’s nonfiction and creative writing programs.

The event, free and open to the public, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Sept. 16, starting with the information session. The panel discussion is titled “What Would Mother Say? The Delicate Art of Writing About Real People.” Organizers said local writers Jodi Angel, Elaine Corn and Jan Haag will participate, and Jennifer Basye Sander will be the moderator.

People interested in attending are asked to enroll in advance, either online or by calling (800) 752-0881. The location is the UC Davis Sutter Square Galleria, 2901 K St., Sacramento.
