CRAFT CENTER OPEN HOUSE: Looking for a way to unwind from a stressful day at the office? Consider the Craft Center, which is open to staff members and the general public as well as students.

You can find out more by visiting the Craft Center (in the South Silo) during a pair of open houses, Sept. 23 and 24, both from noon to 3 p.m. Free snow cones will be served and Craft Center gift certificates will be awarded in drawings, according to a news release.

Every quarter, the center offers more than 90 classes, from one-day workshops to seven-week courses. General registration for the fall is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Sept. 29. Class listings are in the fall Recreation Guide and online: campusrecreation.ucdavis.edu.

Registration can be arranged in person; by telephone, (530) 752-1475 (using Visa or MasterCard); or by mail or fax using the form on the Craft Center Web site. Online registration is not available.
