The Department of Music swings from madness in October to jazz in November:

• Madness and Music Festival — It continues through this weekend, with a program that includes two UC Davis performance groups: the Empyrean Ensemble, tonight (Oct. 29), and the Symphony Orchestra, Oct. 31. Complete details.
