Arboretum events set

The UC Davis Arboretum will hold the following upcoming events:

  • Saturday, Oct. 29: a guided tour, "The Oaks of the Arboretum." Meet at 11 a.m. at the gazebo and learn about how acorns from around the world have grown into magnificent trees.
  • Sunday, Nov. 6: a guided tour, "Brisk Walk in the Arboretum." Meet at 2 p.m. at the Arboretum Headquarters and get some exercise and an overview of the plant collections.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 9: a guided tour, "Walk with Warren." Meet at noon at the south entrance of Mrak Hall and tour the collections with the campus's master plantsman, Warren Roberts.
  • Saturday, Nov. 12: a guided tour, "Container Gardening." Meet at 11 a.m. at the Aboretum Terrace Garden and discover tips for gardening in containers in the Central Valley.
  • Saturday, Nov. 19: a guided tour, "November in the White Flower Garden." Meet 11 a.m. at the gazebo and find out why the white flower garden is beautiful in late autumn.
  • Sunday, Dec. 4: a guided tour, "Words in the Garden." Meet at 2 p.m. at the Alumni and Visitors Center and hear local authors respond to the Arboretum and Putah Creek.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 14: a guided tour, "Walk with Warren." Meet at noon at the south entrance of Mrak Hall and tour the collections with the campus's master plantsman, Warren Roberts.
