Robinson, Azevedo and Radzinski
Space shuttle Endeavour — with Aggie alumnus Stephen Robinson aboard as a mission specialist — docked with the International Space Station at 12:06 a.m. EST Feb. 10.
Robinson, who received his bachelor’s degree from UC Davis in 1978, is on his fourth shuttle mission. It began with an early morning liftoff Feb. 8, postponed one day because of bad weather.
The Endeavour crew’s major assignment: deliver and assemble the Node 3 module, also known as Tranquility. It includes an observation cupola offering panoramic views of Earth and other celestial objects, as well as visiting spacecraft.
Robinson and his crewmates are due for landing at Kennedy Space Center at 10:01 p.m. EST (7:01 p.m. PST) Feb. 20.

Look for Emily Azevedo ’05 during the Olympics’ opening ceremonies starting at 6 p.m. PST today (Feb. 12) in Vancouver. The Aggie track star now uses her speed, agility and strength in bobsledding.
For the Olympics, she is paired with Bree Schaaf in Team USA’s Sled 3. Schaaf is the driver, Azevedo is the brakewoman — and a pusher, too, helping to give the sled a speedy start for its plunge down the icy mountain chute. Women’s bobsled competition is scheduled Feb. 23 and 24, with two runs each day.

Aggie athletic trainer Jill Radzinski is also in Vancouver, as trainer for the U.S. women’s hockey team, seeded second behind host Canada in the eight-team tournament.
Canada is in Group A, Team USA is in Group B — which means they could be playing each other for the gold on Feb. 25.
In the first round, each team plays every other team in the same group. Team USA’s schedule: noon Feb. 14 against China, 2:30 p.m. Feb. 16 against Russia and 2:30 p.m. Feb. 18 against Finland.
