Academic Senate to discuss campus budget efficiencies and revised General Education requirement

The Academic Senate's Representative Assembly next week is expected to discuss the senate's view of potential campus budget efficiencies and consider a revised General Education requirement.

These are among the agenda items for the assembly's last regularly scheduled meeting of the year, set for 2:10 p.m. June 6 in MU II at the Memorial Union.

In other business, the Committee on Committees is due to put forth its recommended committee assignments for the next academic year. Committee assignments take on added importance with the knowledge that much of the senate's work gets done in committees.

The Distinguished Teaching Award Committee is scheduled to make its recommendations for this year's awards, and the agenda also includes remarks from Linda Bisson, professor, viticulture and enology, whose two-year term as senate chair comes to end this summer.

Staff Assembly Vice Chair Peter Blando is scheduled to deliver the assembly's annual report to the senate.
