The Academic Federation is inviting the campus community to a ceremony and reception next week for the recipients of this year's federation awards for Excellence in Teaching and Research.

The free event is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. June 4 in the Community room at International House, 10 College Park, Davis.

The federation announced teaching awards for Elizabeth Davis of the University Writing Program, and James D. Shaffrath of the Department of Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior; and a research award for Christoph Vogel, environmental toxicology. The federation comprises more than 1,200 academic employees who are not members of the Academic Senate. Federation members include lecturers, librarians, agronomists, academic coordinators, project scientists, researchers and extension specialists.
