The Mondavi Center sends out ARTSMAIL by e-mail. Athletics sends out Aggie Update by e-mail. Various arts units and UC Davis Extension also send out electronic newsletters.

You may be receiving one or more, but only if you signed up.

Maybe you would like to receive them. You can sign up at each unit’s Web site, or you can take care of multiple sign-ups on a single, electronic subscription form.

This convenient new tool — “one-stop shopping” to keep you connected with the campus community — is coming in an April 13 e-mail to all students and staff. As planned, a similar mass e-mail will go out once a year.

All the participating units have an interest in alerting the campus community to concerts and theatre performances, athletic events, exhibitions and other programs. Sometimes the units want to tell you about special offers.

Take athletics, for example. “The e-mail system will allow us to communicate our athletic discounts and promotions directly to the UC Davis community,” said Greg Warzecka, athletics director.

“Many of our events include specific discounts for UC Davis employees, and by joining this e-mail list, you will be informed when these discounts occur.”

Likewise, UC Davis Extension wants you to know about its many offerings — for which staff and faculty are eligible for discounts of 20 percent to 50 percent.

The Mondavi Center wants to tell you about “just added” performances and early-bird ticket sales.

The “one-stop” subscription e-mail will direct you to the new “Stay Connected with the UC Davis Community” Web site. For each “subscribe” button that you select (Arts at UC Davis, Intercollegiate Athletics, Mondavi Center or UC Davis Extension), your name will be added to the unit’s e-mail list within one month.

The participating units have agreed not share your e-mail address with other entities, and to provide easy opt-out mechanisms, if, in the future you decide that you no longer want to receive the e-mails.
