Following is a summary of arts events on the UC Davis campus coming up in the next few days.

Department of Theatre and Dance stages "Gibraltar"

In “Gibraltar,” a young woman whose husband has disappeared meets a traveler searching for his runaway wife. They share stories played out in a landscape of memory. Kent Nicholson (MFA, theatre, ’95), director of musical theatre at Playwrights Horizons in New York, directs. Performances run Nov. 9–18.More performing arts and other art in art newsletter.

More jazz is highlighted in a free noon performance and a ticketed evening concert Nov. 30. More information is available on concerts from the Department of Music.

International Education Week highlights personal stories of Aggies

The personal stories of Aggies who have ventured around the globe and of those who have come from beyond our borders will be featured during International Education Week, Nov. 13-17. The official opening for the event, from 3 to 5 p.m. Monday (Nov. 13) in the lobby of the International Center, will feature remarks from Chancellor Gary S. May followed by student presentations about eight of the more than 110 countries from which our international students and scholars come. There will also be cultural performances by student groups.

With partners, Global Affairs has organized more than 20 activities — including cultural workshops, information sessions, entertainment and other social events — to celebrate the benefits of international education and worldwide exchange.

For more information on the week’s activities, see the online program.

Michael French, in Art; Phil Daley, in Music; and Julia Ann Easley, in Strategic Communications, are all UC Davis communicators who contributed to this blog post.
