Week Celebrates Cultures of People of African Descent

Free rap/hip-hop performances often occur on the Memorial Union patio.

May 16 to 23, Sunday to Sunday -- A daylong family festival, free and open to the public, will be among the highlights of Black Family Week, a UC Davis event that celebrates the cultures of people of African descent. Held on the Quad from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 22, the family day will feature live entertainment, a fashion show, dance workshops, a children's fair, and arts and crafts vendors.
