TAKING ANOTHER LOOK AT IRAN ...

A display of photos of Iran will complement a discussion Tuesday as Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef leads a debriefing and question-and-answer session about a small campus delegation's recent trip to Iran. The meeting, open to the campus community, is set to run noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Silo Cabernet Room. The April 25 to May 1 trip was geared toward visiting the University of Tehran and increasing cultural understanding, exploring academic collaborations and reconnecting with alumni. On Tuesday, the chancellor will present a synopsis of the trip and will discuss future steps to be taken in light of what the delegation learned. In addition to the chancellor, other members of the delegation who will offer perspectives on the trip include UC Davis Foundation Board member Mohammad Mohanna, engineering dean Enrique Lavernia, vice provost for university outreach and international programs Bill Lacy, and director of international visitors and alumni Bob Kerr. To read the journal the chancellor kept during the trip, see coverage in the May 14 edition of Dateline.
