- UC Management Skills Assessment Program: Application deadline Dec. 20
Updated 4:45 p.m. Dec. 4: Registration deadlines have been extended for Administrative Officers for the Future and ProShare networking.
Three staff development programs now open for registration or applications offer opportunities to build your networking with colleagues, undergo an assessment of your management skills and prepare to be an administrative officer.
●︎ ProShare — For managers, aspiring managers and staff at all levels, this program aims to help Davis and Sacramento campus staff members develop and build connections with their colleagues across campus and across the causeway, for mutual guidance and support.
Participants will be assigned to small cohorts that will have 90-minute meetings monthly from January to July. Within each cohort, each member will take a turn as the monthly host for programs that could include department tours, presentations to the group, and discussions of key management issues.
The program includes three plenary meetings: kickoff 11:30-1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29; mid-program event in April; and closing event in July.
Sponsored by the Administrative Management Group, or ADMAN, and Staff Assembly. More information and the registration link. The registration deadline has been extended to Friday, Dec. 20. Send questions to Amy Burns.
●︎ Administrative Officers for the Future, or AOFTF — Cultivating a diverse pool of highly talented and motivated staff interested in pursuing administrative officer positions (e.g., chief administrative officer, department administrator). The program supports UC Davis’ commitment to develop and retain a distinguished and diverse staff and is intended to increase participants’ sense of community and commitment to UC Davis.
UC Davis and UC Davis Health employees who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply: at least one year at UC Davis/UC Davis Health, completed probation, career status and suggested Career Tracks salary grade of 18 or above (or equivalent).
The 2020 AOFTF schedule includes 18 daylong sessions from January into August. Up to 30 participants will be selected from across UC Davis and UC Davis Health. The supervisor’s role in supporting an employee’s participation in the Administrative Officers for the Future program is crucial to the ultimate success of that employee’s professional development experience.
More information and the application materials are available online. The application deadline has been extended to Wednesday, Dec. 4. Send questions to AOFTF.
●︎ UC Management Skills Assessment Program, or MSAP — This systemwide program is designed to assess the management skills of high potential, early career supervisors, managers and professionals for future leadership opportunities. The Davis campus and UC Davis Health are looking to fill seven slots in the spring 2020 MSAP, to be held Monday-Thursday, April 20-23, at the UCLA Conference Center at Lake Arrowhead.
This program information page (on the UC Riverside website) includes a link to the application. UC Davis Human Resources will pay the fee for you to attend (program materials, and room and board), while your department is responsible for transportation and related travel costs.
Your completed application, including supervisor’s statement of support, must be submitted online by 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20.
