Public Comments Invited on Police Accreditation

A team of assessors from the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (IACLEA) will visit campus March 16 to 19 to examine all aspects of the UC Davis Police Department’s policy and procedures, management, operation and support services. The visit is part of the process to renew the department’s accreditation, a highly prized recognition of campus public safety professional excellence.

The assessment team is inviting public comments about the police department’s ability to comply with IACLEA standards, which can be found on the IACLEA website (www.iaclea.org). Comments can be submitted by email to jmurphy@iaclea.org or by calling (530) 752-7370 between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday, March 17. Comments will be taken by a member of the assessment team.

The department was originally accredited in 2021. If granted, accreditation lasts for four years, with annual progress reports.
