Parker to lead Dateline

Clifton Parker, Dateline's associate editor, has been tapped as the new editor of UC Davis' faculty-staff newspaper. He replaces Amy Agronis Burgstahler, editor since January 2001, who is leaving to pursue careers in equine management and freelance communications.

Parker has served as associate editor and primary writer at Dateline for nearly three years. Prior to Dateline, he was the senior writer for the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sci-ences. Before coming to UC Davis, he worked as a newspaper reporter, copywriter and Congressional press secretary.

Parker has written two books, Fouled Away: the Baseball Tragedy of Hack Wilson (2000) and Big and Little Poison: Paul and Lloyd Waner (2002). He has a bachelor's degree in political science from Pennsylvania State University and a master's in journalism from the University of Florida.
