Katharine P. Burnett, associate professor of Chinese art history, has organized a national conference in conjunction with the Nelson Gallery's spring exhibition, Visualizing Revolution: Propaganda Posters from the People's Republic of China, an exhibit featuring works like the one pictured here (see separate story on this exhibition and others set for the spring quarter).

The symposium, free and open to the public, is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 12 in 217 Art Building.

Speakers with UC Davis affiliation are listed as professors Chen Xiaomei, East Asian languages and cultures; and Sheldon Lu, comparative literature; Associate Professor Riché Richardson, English; and graduate student Lindsay Riordan, art history. Other speakers: professors Judy Andrews, Ohio State University; Ellen Johnston Laing, University of Michigan; and Shen Kuiyi, UC San Diego; and the Shanghai Propaganda Poster Art Centre's owner and director, Yang Peiming.
