Aspen Santa Fe Ballet — Performing Twyla Tharp’s Sue’s Leg, the choreographer’s 1975 tribute to the music of Fats Waller. 8 p.m. April 9, Jackson Hall. Preperformance lecture by Jean-Philippe Malaty, the ballet’s executive director, 7 p.m., Jackson Hall; and post-performance question-and-answer session.

Alexander String Quartet — All-Beethoven program: String Quartet in E-flat Major, op. 74 (Harp), and String Quartet in F Minor, op. 95 (Serioso), 2 and 7 p.m. April 11, Vanderhoef Studio Theatre. Musicologist, author and composer Robert Greenberg provides commentary during the 2 p.m. concert; a question-and-answer session follows the 7 p.m. concert.

Diavolo — Ten dancers, gymnasts and actors, creating dreamscape worlds and taking movement, athleticism and risk to the extreme. Led by choreographer Jacques Heim, who previously worked with Cirque de Soleil. 3 p.m. April 11, Jackson Hall. Post-performance question-and-answer session. School matinee (recommended for grades 4-12), demonstrating the company’s performance style and philosophy while introducing some basic elements of dance, 11 a.m. April 12, Jackson Hall.
