Media Calendar: Milk Genome Symposium

Nov. 11-12, Thursday and Friday -- UC Davis researchers from fields including food science, nutrition, animal science and applied science will be among the invited speakers at the International Symposium on the Milk Genome & Human Health. The symposium will focus on the current state of genomics as it relates to milk research, the processes of lactation, the tools of genomics and an overview of the milk genome project. The goal of the symposium is to produce a guiding document for the milk genome project, which is an international consortium for genomic research devoted to better understanding the genetic basis for the healthfulness of milk. The symposium will be held at COPIA: The American Center for Wine, Food & the Arts in Napa, Calif., and is sponsored by the California Dairy Research Foundation. Media interested in attending should contact Jennifer Giambroni, California Dairy Research Foundation, at (510) 530-7983 or info@cdrf.org.
