Graduates of the UC Davis law school who took the July state bar examination for the first time had a 91.8 percent passage rate, once again outranking the majority of American Bar Association-accredited schools in California. The first-time applicants' passage rate of UC Davis law graduates surpassed that of graduates at UC Berkeley, Loyola and UCLA, among other state law schools. The outstanding passage rate can be attributed to the fact that the school "continues to attract better and better students," says Rex Perschbacher, associate dean of the UC Davis law school. In addition, he says, "we've had the good fortune of maintaining a good program even with larger classes, smaller faculty and more reliance on adjunct professors." During the past six years, UC Davis has placed among the top three state law schools in the passage rate for first-time takers.
