Physician and best-selling author Andrew Weil's scheduled visit to UC Davis on March 3 will take in the Davis and Sacramento campuses, with public talks at both.
Weil promotes natural, holistic paths to health, and is widely credited with establishing and popularizing the field of integrative medicine -- combining conventional medicine with alternative treatments for which there is some scientific basis.
His philosophy emphasizes preventive health maintenance with a strong focus on diet, exercise and stress management.
His books include Health and Healing: The Philosophy of Integrative Medicine and Optimum Health, The Healthy Kitchen, Healthy Aging, and Dr. Andrew Weil's Self Healing.
