Children's Rights, Advocacy Topic of Symposium

April 10, Saturday -- Children's rights and other legal efforts to keep the young safe in an increasingly dangerous world will be examined during a daylong symposium at UC Davis. The "2004 Symposium on Children's Rights," presented by the UC Davis Journal of Juvenile Law and Policy, is free and open to the public. Sessions will explore current topics in welfare and dependency law, the impact of medical research on children, and trends in child advocacy. There will also be a screening of "Love and Diane," an award-winning documentary of poverty, welfare and drug rehabilitation that follows a family through three generations. The symposium, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., will be held in the Moot Court Room of King Hall. For more information and to register, visit http://www.law.ucdavis.edu/jjlp/symposium.html.
