ADVANCING VIPER VISION ...

Faculty, residents and students at the School of Veterinary Medicine spent Saturday making the first high-frequency ultrasound studies of the structures in snake eyes. Led by the director of the school’s ophthalmology service, Stephen Hollingsworth, in the dark shirt, the team imaged the eyes of about a dozen snakes, including this ball python, right. Their findings should help veterinarians provide better medical care to snakes with eye injuries or diseases. Performing the ultrasound are veterinary medicine residents Brad Holmberg, left, and Anneliese Strunk, and student Leann Sickafoose.
