Undergraduate Admissions recently launched a redesigned version of its Web site — see bumbus.ucdavis.edu/whynew/ua. This redesign changes the way information is presented on the site and gives users with an option to "personalize" their experience. Some of the new developments:
- Audience pages that present information for specific groups, such as counselors, parents and admitted students.
- A new Spanish section for parents.
- An "I'd Like to" section that gives users quick access to the UC application, publication request information, tour info and more.
- A greater emphasis on UC Davis' majors, presented through large-format photography and a home-page Flash slideshow.
- A personalization option that allows users to organize the information that they find most valuable on a custom home page.
The redesign was based on research that showed what prospective students and their parents found useful in a college Web site.
