4 free concerts in Mondavi lobby

As the new academic year begins, the Mondavi Center is once again hosting some of the music department's Noon Concerts -- free events held on Thursdays. Four concerts are scheduled in the Mondavi Center lobby:

Oct. 2 -- Keith Bohm on saxophone, with John Cozza on piano. Works by Paule Maurice, Armando Ghidoni, Robert Planel, Gustavo Beytelmann and Jean-Baptiste Singelee.

Oct. 9 -- Hrabba Atladottir, violin. Works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Eugène Ysaÿe, and the department's newest faculty member, Mika Pelo.

Oct. 23 -- Violet Grgich, harpsichord, with Colin Shipman, viola da gamba. French Baroque works by Forqueray and other period composers.

Oct. 30 -- Dennis Edwards, piano, and Steve Webber, bass: Jazz and the Great American Songbook, including works by George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers, Cole Porter, Henry Mancini and Irving Berlin.

Noon Concerts on Oct. 16, Nov. 6 and 14, and Dec. 11 are scheduled in 115 Music Building.
