As the Dixon May Fair Parade got under way last year, a marshal intercepted Peggy Narducci and Dino as they took their place in line behind the Cal Aggie Marching Band-uh!
"Dino was having a ball with those band people," said Narducci, adding that Dino loved to march behind a band or music from a float. "He just pranced to the music all the way … zigzagging down the street," she said.
Band noise can rile a horse, though, and the Dixon parade marshal was concerned.
"I said, 'He doesn't spook,' but they put a fire truck in between us and the band," Narducci said.
Dino did not like it one bit, Narducci said, and stayed as far back as he could from the fire truck's exhaust, siren and horn. That was unbearable noise, nothing at all like the music from the Aggie Marching Band-uh!
