Global Day Is Dedicated to One Health

Faculty and students from the One Health Institute and School of Veterinary Medicine will join colleagues from around the world on Nov. 3 to highlight the benefits of a One Health approach. We'll also have our own events Nov. 4 and 5, including a symposium.

This first global “One Health Day” was created by three international groups, the One Health Commission, the One Health Initiative and the One Health Platform.

The goal is to feature projects developed by participants to showcase the One Health approach for addressing critical global health challenges.

Will you be a part of the festivities?

Our teams at UC Davis will host live-streaming sessions and follow the international One Health Day events in real-time. We’ll provide a full list of those events this fall.

Three $5,000 cash prizes will be awarded to student teams that plan One Health Day events. The winners will be selected by a jury of international experts.

Our Students for One Health club is already planning. If you have an idea, or if you would like to participate in the celebration of One Health, email OneHealth@ucdavis.edu. If you are already planning an event, please register here so we can help promote it.

At UC Davis, we will have events planned for Nov. 4 and 5 in addition to the official day of celebration on Nov 3. Here’s the itinerary:

On the official One Health Day, we will join colleagues from around the world by gathering for live-streamed events. A list of those events will be released in October.
