Action Items – Tickets and Grad Cards
Dear Grad,
In addition to reviewing the items below, we encourage you to visit the FAQ and Plan Your Visit pages on the Commencement website.
REDEEM YOUR GUEST TICKETS
- The Golden 1 Center is a paperless venue and tickets are ceremony specific. Please refer to the instructions to access and manage your tickets.
- All guest tickets are considered “general admission.” This means there are no assigned seats and seating is first come, first served.
- Doors will open 90 minutes prior to the start time for each ceremony and guests should plan to come early to secure their seats.
- Registered graduates do not need tickets to enter and will be checking in at a separate area.
- Tickets are not required for children ages 2 and under.
- A smart phone will be required to scan tickets upon entry.
- One guest may load multiple tickets for their family and friends as long as they are entering the arena together.

Know before you go
Dear Graduates,
As a reminder, you are confirmed for {ceremony date and time} at the Golden 1 Center. In addition to reviewing the items below, we encourage you to visit the FAQ and Plan Your Visit pages on the Commencement website.
Highlights:
- Ceremony tickets are paperless and will be issued via the Ticketmaster app no later than Friday, June 7. Extra ticket requests have been confirmed in the registration system.
- Grad Card printing instructions
- Golden 1 Center is a bagless venue and has a number of prohibited items. Get familiar with what you can and cannot bring.
- Review and confirm your cell phone information in the WarnMe system.
- Pick up your pre-ordered cap and gown by June 15.

TICKET AND LIVESTREAM INFORMATION
Registered graduates participating in the ceremony do not need tickets to enter and will be checking in at a separate area. During the registration process, you selected the number of tickets for your guests. Guest tickets will be issued to registered graduates by Friday, June via their UC Davis email. You will receive detailed instructions on how to access and distribute guest tickets.
If you petitioned for 1-2 extra tickets in your registration on top of your 6, they have been approved. Please log back into the system to see that update. Please note that if you graduated in winter quarter, you will likely receive a message that you are no longer recognized as a student. Please log in as a “non-Current student,” and you will be able to access the system.

CONFIRM YOUR CELL PHONE INFORMATION IN WARN ME
In the unlikely event of a last-minute change to a commencement ceremony or we need to reach you in the case of an emergency, all graduating students are required to review and confirm their mobile phone number in WarnMe. WarnMe is the system we use at UC Davis to send a text message to your cell phone number with any urgent updates. Go to the WarnMe website. Click on “Edit My WarnMe Information” to review your cell phone information and update it if needed. Please do this as soon as possible. Your cell phone information will not be used for any purpose other than critical or emergency updates for commencement.
PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION
If you are planning to drive, ensure you and your guests leave ample time to park and go through Golden 1 Center security. Ceremonies will start on time.
To help expedite the parking process, we recommend you reserve parking at the Golden 1 Center in advance directly through SacPark where you will select a parking lot and reserve a parking pass. Passes must be printed out or loaded on your phone before you arrive to park. For more parking info, including directions and a map, visit the Golden 1 Center’s parking web page.
Drop-off Locations:
- The Golden 1 Center has designated rideshare drop-off points. Visit the Golden 1 Center FAQ for more information.
- The ADA accessible drop-off and pick-up is located at 4th Street & J Street. Parking for the duration of an event is not permitted. More information about ADA and accessibility information is available on the Golden 1 Center’s website.

ACCESSIBILITY ACCOMMODATIONS
The Golden 1 Center has thorough accessibility accommodations for guests. Learn more on their website. If graduates need accommodations for the ceremony, please email commencement@ucdavis.edu.
GOLDEN 1 CENTER BAG POLICY AND PROHIBITED ITEMS
Please note that Golden 1 Center is a bagless venue. Clutches and wallets smaller than 8” x 6” x 1” will be permitted and are subject to security inspection. Please do not bring any bags larger than this size or you will not be permitted to enter the arena. Bags deemed and accepted as medical bags must be searched and tagged by a security supervisor. There are a number of items that are prohibited inside the arena, including backpacks, balloons or signs over a certain size. We recommend that you review the prohibited items list for the Golden 1 Center to ensure entry into the arena.
Exchanging items between the floor level and the concourse is prohibited by the Golden 1 Center for safety reasons. If guests need to exchange any items with their graduate (flowers, leis, etc.), please make sure to do so before entering the arena or after you exit.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Pro Pics is the official photographer for the commencement ceremonies to take portraits of graduates. On-stage photos and individual portraits will be available for purchase from Pro Pics following the graduation ceremonies. Register online to identify your photos and receive proofs. There is no cost to have your photo taken and no obligation to purchase.
Photos taken by family or friends will be permitted from their seats or from the designated photo areas available during the ceremony. Tripods will NOT be allowed into any of our commencement venues.
After commencement, graduates can go to UCDavisPhotos.com, click on the link of their ceremony, and search by last name to order photographs. For any issues, please contact info@propicsusa.com.
CAP AND GOWN PICKUP
Pre-ordered cap and gowns are now available for pick up through June 15 at the Memorial Union Campus Store lower level Mon-Fri 8:30 am-6 pm, Sat noon-5 pm. The webpage also provides information on other opportunities to purchase custom souvenirs and gifts.
GRAD CAP CONTEST
Enter the annual UC Davis Grad Cap contest to show off your creativity and get the chance to win gift cards to the Bookstore and Amazon. The deadline to enter is Sunday, June 17, 2024 at 1:00 p.m..

HOTEL AND LODGING
Guests coming from out of town are encouraged to make reservations as early as possible. Local hotels in and around Davis (located in Yolo County) are a great way to stay close to your graduates. Hotel accommodations surrounding the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento are another option.

Registered graduates participating in the ceremony do not need tickets to enter and will be checking in at a separate area.

REGISTRATION SITE UPDATE: We apologize if you experienced delays in accessing the registration site. We had more than 5,000 graduates register for commencement within the first hour of the site going live. We encourage you to revisit to the site if you still need to complete your registration.

You have received this email because you have completed 140 units of degree-applicable credit as of the end of fall quarter, meeting the requirement needed to register. (Please note that participating in a commencement ceremony doesn’t mean you have completed your degree. To officially graduate and receive your diploma, you must have filed a graduation application online between January 16, 2024 and March 8, 2024 through the Office of the Registrar.)
COMMENCEMENT REGISTRATION
Registration for the spring 2024 undergraduate commencement ceremonies opens this morning at 10 a.m. at ucdavis.edu/commencement/spring.
You must register to participate in one of the commencement ceremonies. When registering, you will be asked to choose a ceremony date from the five options below, and each graduate may receive up to six guest tickets. Ceremony dates will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so register as soon as possible. Be sure to check the dates and times of any identity, cultural and affinity celebrations you would like to attend before confirming your commencement ceremony date.

COMMENCEMENT REGISTRATION
Mark your calendar — registration for the spring 2024 undergraduate commencement ceremonies opens at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024, at ucdavis.edu/commencement.
You must register to participate in one of the commencement ceremonies. When registering, you will be asked to choose a ceremony date from the five options below. Ceremony dates will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so register as soon as possible.
- 9 a.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024
- 2 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024
- 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024
- 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024
- 9 a.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2024
COMMENCEMENT INFORMATION AND RESOURCES
Location: The ceremonies will be held at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento. Each graduate can request up to six guest tickets.
