The 21st century university: UC Davis Annual Report
UC Davis has unique academic and research strengths that position it at the forefront of higher education. The 2012-13 Annual Report illustrates how the university prepares students to grow and become leaders and how it supports faculty to conduct innovative and meaningful research.
The annual report includes information on what UC Davis has achieved in the past year on student leadership; sustainability; research and scholarship; interdisciplinary breakthroughs; groundbreaking partnerships; technology start-ups; the arts and culture; economic leadership; health advancements; and philanthropic support.
Through these efforts and others, UC Davis is advancing knowledge of California and the world’s most pressing issues: food, water, health, society, energy and the environment. This vision—to engage both locally and globally—is more fully explained in the Vision of Excellence, which was launched in 2010 by Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi and the campus community.
UC Davis exists to explore and innovate, to provide the sparks of illumination — our students and research — that enlighten our world.
