Aggie Pride: Students helping students

UC Davis students are helping to meet the emergency needs of fellow students through a new effort called “We Are Aggie Pride.”

The new program’s Students Helping Students Fund provides short-term financial assistance to students to cover food, rent and other essential costs not covered by other programs, to give a temporary boost to those who are trying to stay on track for academic success.

Students, faculty and staff all are being asked to contribute—and students are being asked to get involved in raising funds. The campaign, which aims to raise $25,000 in its first year, will host a variety of activities through March 8 to generate donations—a coffee break, bake sale, craft activities and UC Davis athletics events.

Donations can be made online to We Are Aggie Pride. UC Davis also has other forms of short-term emergency assistance available to students.
