UC Davis today: Food studies

The national leader in food studies

UC Davis is 1st among all American universities in the number of faculty papers published on the food sciences.

Our expertise means opportunity for students. We offer 27 majors in the food and environmental sciences, and students learn from some of the world’s leading scientists on key sustainable agricultural projects. In Chile, our scientists helped that country transform its food systems through a decades-long partnership. In India and Bangladesh, our scientists collaborated on the introduction of flood-tolerant rice to help protect that important crop for those people.

We take pride that these faculty who help feed the planet are great researchers — and outstanding teachers as well.
