Celebrate the year of the Eggheads with the Manetti Shrem Museum staff in May for staff-led walking tours celebrating the Eggheads’ 30th anniversary on the UC Davis campus. Start at the museum with a visit to Hatched: The Making of Robert Arneson’s Eggheads, a pop-up display of Egghead maquettes in the lobby, and then visit the five Egghead locations across campus. You’ll hear Egghead lore and learn about how and why Arneson created these iconic sculptures and how we care for them today.

Registration is limited to 20 people per tour with on-site signup beginning at 12:30 p.m. for the 1 p.m. tour and 2:30 p.m. for the 3 p.m. tour. Tours require walking approximately 1.5 miles.

Emmet Cohen’s 2022 sold-out run in the Vanderhoef Studio Theatre was nothing short of electric. So electric, in fact, that Cohen returns just one year later, this time “plugged in” to a Hammond B-3 with his virtuosic, soulful organ trio. Whatever instrument he’s playing, Cohen has a unique ability to connect with audiences through his harmonically sophisticated, joyful and open-hearted takes on great tunes. For Cohen playing jazz is “about communicating the deepest levels of humanity and individuality; it’s essentially about connections.”
