The campus community is invited to a celebration Wednesday (Feb. 7) in honor of the 73 faculty members who transitioned to emeritus status last summer.

“For decades they strived to make UC Davis a better place, and many will remain engaged with research, teaching and public service,” said Walter Leal, distinguished professor of molecular and cellular biology and organizer of the celebration.

He honored some faculty members in a tribute video in the fall, and will honor the rest at the event this week.

In-person registration for the 9 a.m. event is full, but it will also be streamed on Zoom. Registration for the Zoom version of the event is available here.

Chancellor Gary S. May is scheduled to speak at the event, as is Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Mary Croughan. Ten faculty members are expected to speak.
